Mix and matching patterns can seem pretty complicated. However, when the right colours are combined and the proportions are respected, the possibilities are endless, and so fun! Easy to say for our stylists, but not so easy for you to put it into practice, right? To help you out a little bit, here are three basic rules so you can rock different patterns flawlessly!

1- THE RULE OF TWO

No, this is not a dance step but rather an infallible colour guide to properly mix two different patterned pieces. To perfectly match your designs, make sure that at least two colours of your most colourful piece are found in your second item. For example, if you wear a floral pants that contain five colours, make sure that two of them are in your striped top.

Feeling daring? The rule of two is a foolproof trick, but matching more than two colours can also work just fine. Will you be bold enough?

2- SIZE MATTERS

Easy! Large floral patterns, small stripes. Small polka dots, large checks. Wide stripes, little leopard print. Get it? It's all about the balance! And don't forget to opt for large patterns where you want to catch the eye!

3- GRAPHIC VS ROUNDED

There are tons of patterns out there, but to make it all easy, our stylists like to separate them into two big families. The first: graphic patterns such as stripes, checks, chevrons or even gingham.

And the second: rounded patterns like polka dots, flowers, animal prints or paisley.

For a flawless look, mixing the two families of patterns is your best option. Also keep in mind that the rounded patterns highlight your curves, while the graphic ones structure them.
