Dressing up during summer is so easy! A cute dress, a pair of sandals and… voilà! But then, winter comes and we reluctantly put our dresses at the back of our closet. But that ends today! Dresses can be worn all year long, and we’re here to prove it. Take notes, ladies!

FABRICS

Okay, maybe the cotton boho dress has to go… until next summer! Instead, wrap yourself in soft and thick materials: merino wool, cashmere, modal, etc. They are comfortable and make any silhouette look awesome. #win

LENGTHS

Baby, it’s cold outside! Opt for a knee-length dress a below-the-knee one. Midi length is super trendy right now. Try it out! If you’re petite, choose a narrower cut midi dress and add heeled boots to lengthen your legs.

TIGHTS

Wool, cotton or merino tights are great choices to keep you warm, even in below-zero temperatures. For a young and casual look, choose completely opaque tights that fits the colour of your shoes. To add a festive touch to your outfit, opt for tights with reliefs and patterns, and, for a more classic style, go with skin-coloured nylons. Make sure to choose the right shade for your complexion. The colour of your nylons should simply be the same as your bare leg or slightly (very slightly!) darker.

BOOTS

Booties or boots goes perfectly well with most dresses. Ankle or knee high? It’s up to you, but if you want to avoid a heavier silhouette, we suggest you leave a space of at least two inches between the top of your boot and the bottom of your dress. The thigh-high boots are always nice when paired with a midi-length dress, but the most daring fashionistas will choose the stylish combat boots.

We love playing with lengths and proportions! Thus, with a short dress, we suggest wearing a long and loose cardigan. Comfy and stylish! With a midi dress, opt for a short and structured jacket.

WHAT ABOUT THE COAT?

Oh, Canada! Since our winters are so cold, we sometimes have to compromise style-wise! In our opinion, the best option to be warm and yet stylish is a knee-length neutral and classic colour coat. Think beige, navy or black. We know they can be quite pricey, but think of it as an investment, since it’s an everyday must have!
