It’s official, summer is here to stay. Which got us thinking about the biggest swim trends for the season. Here is what will truly give you an edge by the pool or at the beach!

ANIMAL PRINTS

Animal prints are everywhere this season, and that includes swimwear: even the beach feels like a jungle. Prepare to observe in the wild leopard, snake, and even pink zebra prints. Savage!

NEONS

In case you hadn’t noticed, neons are taking center stage this summer. If you don’t think you can pull off a neon dress or trouser, you’ll be happy to know neons are front and center in the swimwear department too, and actually easier to wear this way. Neons are really much cooler in small doses, to bring life to your beach outfit and enhance your summer glow. Brilliant!

TUBES

Minimalists, this one is for you: the tube top (aka bandeau) is making waves this year by getting rid of straps and frills. Perfect for those allergic to tan lines.

HIGH-WAIST BOTTOMS

When it comes to swim bottoms, it’s hard to ignore the high-waist look. Just like for jeans, once you try it, there’s no going back. Not only is the high-waist cut absolutely on-trend, it also lets you hide your pooch and love-handles: no one will know!

ONE-PIECE

Finding the perfectly trendy and flattering one-piece suit used to be mission impossible. But that’s all in the past! With cool prints and current cuts, one-piece suits are more and more popular amongst women of all demographics, and we can understand why! This is an absolute essential for your swim collection.

UNUSUAL BEACH COVER-UPS

Perfect for getting dressed in a snap, beach cover-ups are both chic and practical. They are great to keep you protected from the sun without overheating, and they allow you walk around comfortably if you feel the need for modesty. Some can even be worn proudly into the evening! Our picks for cover-ups are so stylish, we might be adding them into our regular summer outfit rotation.

Let’s end this list with a round-up of summer shopping tips, to help you through the difficult task of shopping for and trying on swimsuits.

❀ Wear appropriate underwear. If you’re trying on a delicate bottom over a pair of granny-panties, it’s hard to imagine the final result. Go for a thong or a laser-cut style.

❀ If shopping for swimsuits feels stressful, or if you’d like your friend’s advice, why not order a couple online and try them on at home? Just make sure you leave the tags on and don’t wear them out, and return the ones you don’t like.

❀ Consider buying tops and bottoms separately. This lets you create unique style combinations, or mix and match sizes if your upper and lower body require different fits.
