TAKING PROPER CARE OF YOUR CLOTHES
How often should we wash our jeans? Can we wash wool in the washing machine? How to get rid of unpleasant odours? So many questions that have such a big impact on the lifetime of your clothes… Let us guide you!
GIVE YOUR JEANS A BREAK
The most common mistake when it comes to washing jeans is definitely that people do it too often. Your jeans can and SHOULD be worn for months before you wash them. If it seems impossible, at least, try not to wash them every time you wear them…! Even Chris Bergh, the president of Levi’s says so: "A good pair of denim doesn’t really need to be washed in the washing machine except for very infrequently or rarely."
When you wash your jeans, choose the delicate cycle and don’t overload your washing machine. Regarding the dryer, avoid it…!
Your favourite jeans smell funny? Don’t panic! The next time you take a hot shower, hang them in the bathroom. The steam will eliminate the bad odours!
Now that you know how to take good care of them, here’s a selection of our favourite jeans!
WASH YOUR NEW CLOTHES
When you buy new clothes, you’re so excited to wear them that you put them on without washing them before? Bad idea! New clothes are full of chemicals that can irritate your skin. Unlike jeans, do not hesitate… WASH!
PAMPER YOUR SWEATERS
SHEEP’S WOOL: Good news… This thick wool can be machine-washed at 30 degrees, using the delicate cycle. We recommend you put your sweaters in a net or in a pillowcase to prevent damage. Also, use a bit of fabric softener for beautiful and shiny wool!
ANGORA, CASHMERE AND MOHAIR: Here, it’s hand-washing only, and as seldom as possible! In order to wash them less often, put your sweaters in the freezer for 1 or 2 hours. It really helps to get rid of bad odours!
No more unwanted holes in your jeans, sweater pilling and clothes that smell like onion soup…! You’ve got it all figured out!
