THE END OF FALSE BELIEFS ABOUT COLOURS
As we were talking with our stylists, we realized that there are still a lot of false beliefs about colours. When it comes to fashion, we aren’t into rules, and we LOVE colours! So here we have to say about the principal no-nos!
YES TO MONOCHROME OUTFITS
Many people tell us that they’re afraid to wear monochrome because ''it looks cheesy''… In fact… it’s quite the contrary. Monochrome outfits are very stylish! We believe that the best accessory to wear such a look with style is CONFIDENCE!
To become comfortable with wearing monochrome, here are 3 steps:
Step 1 (Adaptation): Go for a neutral shade (grey, beige, black, marine). Super chic, classy and accessible!
Step 2 (Exploration): Dare to wear punchy colours, but choose neutral accessories, like a black purse.
Step 3 (Adoration): You are super confident and under the spell of this amazing trend? Go for bright colours and even for the matching accessories!
LONG LIVE BLACK AND NAVY BLUE
''It’s better not to mix black and navy blue in the same outfit...'' Well, if you ask us, it’s false! The combination of these two colours is super chic and to help you wear them together, here are two winning conditions:
- Go for a navy blue shade that’s not too dark, so it’s obvious that you’re not wearing two shades of black and that you really meant to wear the two colours together!
- Play with textures by going for textiles like silk, leather and knits, which creates an interesting visual effect. It’ll also be easier to distinguish the two shades!
DARE TO MIX SILVER AND GOLD
We like to wear multiple jewels, and the mix of silver and gold looks young and fearless! We even dare to mix it with rose gold, the metallic shade of the season! If you don’t really know where to start, why not go with jewellery that’s already made in silver and gold? We already have a crush on a few models!
BLONDS WEAR YELLOW
Yellow looks good on brunettes, blonds and red heads! In fact… yellow looks good on EVERYONE! Some women with blond hair say they feel like they lack glow when they wear yellow. Our trick to avoid this? Wear a contrasting shade of lipstick to spice up the whole thing! A necklace or big colourful earrings also work! By going for a shiny or textured dress, you’ll also add the magic touch for a healthy and glowy look!
RED HEAD IN PINK
Whether it’s pale or dark pink, red heads who wear it look gorgeous! We like to keep the lips natural to match the pink without overdoing it…! Regarding colour mixes, we like to match pink with white or khaki!
BLACK IN MODERATION
Yes black is beautiful, yes black makes you look slimmer, yes monochrome black is pretty, but colours are the best way to make you look younger and glowing…! You can totally have many black basics, but there are always nice colour touches to spice up your outfits! And to look slimmer, believe us, there are many options, for example, asymmetrical cuts and elongating patterns like vertical stripes! There’s no age limit... Everyone can and SHOULD dare to wear colours!
3 COLOURS AND OVER, WHY NOT!
We think that the rule saying that you should never wear more than three colours in the same outfit is completely outdated… However, we still hear it pretty often! At MFMK, we are just CRAZY about colours and patterns!
Say goodbye to blind obedience… you are now creating your own rules!
